Hi, my name is Mike and I look after the ecofamily blog.

Here at Ecofamily we have a very simple goal, in  our own small way we hope to educate and empower individuals and families to enable better choices  to be made in the way we live our lives. We offer ideas, products and lifestyle changes that can both save money and help sustain our planet. We like to call this Economical Ecology, and the best place to start this is at home with family, friends and neighbours.

A little bit about me, with my wife and family I look after a farm in Yorkshire, I have done this for the past 30 years, it is said that as you get older you  become wiser, im not sure about that in my case, but you certainly become more reflective on the importance of your environment, your fellow planet inhabitants and not least the cost of living be it monetary or environmental. Ecofamily has been born out of a wish to share knowledge that can help make all our lives more rewarding.

It is not a wholly altruistic endeavour as, like everything else, it has to pay its way so Ecofamilyhome.com is designed to be a win/win situation. Ecofamilyhome offers products for sale and takes advertising from third parties, BUT we only do this where we are sure there is a win/win outcome for you and us. Transparency and integrity in transactions is important to us. 

From responsible energy use and renewable energy sources, to using your garden to save money. Ecofamilyhome tries to encourage a greener earth for a cooler planet highlighting small actions that anyone can undertake to help combat the effects of our habits on the planets climate and ecosystems. We also offer a way in which individuals can become actively involved in greening the surface of our planet with MyElephants a renewable energy project running on our family farm.
