We have all become used to enjoying the privacy and flexibility of travelling alone in our cars to reach a destination. This is an extremely resource wasteful attitude to transport when the journeys of many people correspond with similar ones made by others at the same time and to the same destination.

One solution to this waste, and an opportunity to save considerable amounts of money as well, is to consider car sharing. In particular work journeys but this could also apply to the weekly supermarket visit.
